About Us

Founded in 2022, the Great Cape Co-op Inc is a multi-stakeholder co-op. The Co-op is designed to give a body to the various people and business’s that utilize the property.

We greet you with new experienced locals running the grounds who are creating new
experiences for us all to enjoy throughout the precious 15 acres in the heart of Brewster at
2624-2628 Main St(Route 6A).
We are pleased to introduce The Great Cape Co-op officers and directors:

1 – Tina Sylvester – President, Director

I am a born and raised Cape Codder who spent many of my growing up years at Great Cape Tiny Village before the tiny village. I spent my days reading books beneath the trees and roaming the 15 acres and learning about herbs. When I came back to cape with my daughter I wanted to her to have the same experiences I did and with the Coop I am trying to preserve it for her to bring her children someday. Between plants and people, I believe in the healing this community has for its members.

2 – Laura Kelley – Vice President, Director

I am an 11th generation Cape Cod native, born and raised in East Dennis, currently residing in North Eastham. An organic land care provider since 1992 specializing in design with native vegetation and custom stonework for residential and business properties. A passionate activist protecting our aquifer since 2010. Backyard beekeeper for 20 years. Great Cape Herbs helped me in 2000 so I am forever grateful which is why I am motivated to protect the land and gardens, those that healed me. Lets keep Great Cape privately owned, for public use.

3 – Debera First – Treasurer

Growing up I was always running through the woods, riding my bike and going to the beach. After receiving my degree in Business, I traveled extensively and lived and worked in many places (Hawai’i for almost 30 years). The one place I keep coming back to is Cape Cod. Being part of the co-op, and helping to manage it, connects me with these beautiful 15 acres in mind, body and spirit. I believe becoming a member of The Great Cape Co-op is preserving the past and investing in the future of Cape Cod! I hope you will join me in this endeavor!

4 – David Schlesinger – Clerk, Director

I have been a project developer in the solar industry and decided two years ago I would like to take my skill set into community development, and that is when I came across this project. Since then, I have dug in and spearheaded the project management and development of the plan for the next 15 years. This is the cultural center of Brewster, which has been my home for the last 7 years, and this is how I can give back. I love the Great Cape Tiny Village, which is a smooth spot in the chaos effect in my opinion.

5 – Jillian Douglas – Director

6- Robert Henchy – Director

Together we, the Great Cape Co-op, are maintaining, running and managing the grounds.

1 – Together we are seeking a grant writer and finder of grants in order to keep the land for the
public (instead of it being sold to a company who can afford it and builds mic-mansions on it).
2 – Together we are working on the upkeeping requirements listed from The Brewster
Conservation Commission and seek financial help from our beloved community to keep the
property privately owned, for public to use and enjoy.
3 – Together we are receiving drafts for certain building sites on the property, working closely
with local builders to find the best solutions to keep money coming in while keeping the charm.
4 – Together we seek locals who would like to invest time or finances to help us keep the land
the way it is.

Together we, the Great Cape Co-op, thank you, our community for any and all connections, for
helping us help Brewster. It is a pleasure to entertain welcomed income and advice in
conjunction with the same outlook for this land.
